Euroluce 2025 – Milan, Design, and Us

This wasn’t just another trade fair. It was a stroll through a world where light doesn’t dominate but complements. The exhibition booths looked more like luxurious interiors than sales spaces – light subtly highlighted the forms, created atmosphere, and drew us into a story about a well-designed world. Seemingly wordless – yet every detail spoke volumes.

Color Takes Center Stage
What stood out most were the colors. Intense reds, burgundy, terracotta, paired with pastel olives, blues, and pinks. These shades weren’t just a backdrop – they played the leading role. And not just in lighting. Whole compositions – furniture, textiles, accessories – spoke a unified language of color. White and black? Thanks, it's been lovely. Now it’s time for light that doesn’t just shine, but brings character.

Biophilia, Elevated
A trend we already know well returned with new energy. This time it wasn’t just about the presence of plants in our surroundings. Natural materials – linen, bamboo, rattan – and organic shapes inspired by leaves and flower buds dominated lampshades and lighting structures. Biophilic design gained a new definition: less “eco-installation,” more “sensual, natural luxury.”

A Lamp Not to Match – but to Express
We were surprised by how boldly designers embraced pendant lamps. Not just over dining tables. They appeared in closets, bedrooms, kitchens – places previously ruled by discreet, point-source lighting. Hanging forms became more than just furnishings – they were functional décor. Light sculptures that gave identity to entire interiors.

And What About Lumiocco?
We’re coming back from the fair with heads full of ideas and one key thought: light doesn’t have to be neutral. It can be an accent, a statement. We see potential here to create a limited edition fixture – maybe just one, but one that boldly responds to what we saw and heard at Euroluce. A lamp that not only fits the Lumiocco DNA but also shows that colors and forms are a compelling trend shaping the future. Attending Euroluce 2025 in Milan wasn’t just an inspiration. It was a call to action.

Hanna Milic, Category Manager for home lighting at Kanlux and the creative mind and heart behind all Lumiocco collections, represented the brand at the fair. A passionate garden designer and plant lover, she has long merged aesthetics with functionality, designing lighting that adapts to the designer’s vision – not the other way around. She has a keen eye for detail, a refined sense of color, and a fondness for things that are both beautiful and practical. She often says that, to her, Lumiocco is a concept that must be continuously refined and perfected to bring out the best in every space.
