The Art of Encounter - Lumiocco at 4 Design Days 2026

Katowice has long understood what courage in design truly means. Industrial heritage meets contemporary architecture here, and spaces are never afraid of character. That is precisely why 4 Design Days at the Międzynarodowe Centrum Kongresowe became a natural setting for Lumiocco to start a conversation about light - the kind that does not impose itself on a project, but allows it to resonate. Over two January days, we met with architects, interior designers, lighting showroom owners, and design students. Not to speak louder. Rather, to listen with intention.

A Booth Like a Gallery. Light as Exhibit

This year, art became the guiding theme of Lumiocco’s presence. Our booth transformed into a space closer to a museum than a traditional trade fair display. Fabrics, paintings, and a calm spatial composition allowed visitors to see the fixtures in a new context - as elements of interior scenography rather than catalogue products. At clean, pinewood tables (which many of you noticed), conversations unfolded around real projects, challenges, and the details that often determine the success of an entire concept. It was there that the most meaningful inspirations emerged - the ones we carry back with us as we continue shaping our collections.

Premieres That Sparked Dialogue

At the heart of the presentation was the premiere of the BELOA ceiling collection - a direct result of inspiration gathered during Milan Design Week and ongoing conversations with designers about the need for stronger, more intentional lighting accents in interiors. Alongside it, we unveiled NANO-TRACK in RGB and CCT versions, controlled via remote. The magnetic track system gained the flexibility to shift the character of light throughout the design process - from precise neutrality to a colour accent that defines the atmosphere of a space. VIRIS, ZENLU, LAKRI, and TRI-TRACK were also present, subtly illuminating the entire arrangement and demonstrating their capabilities within a natural setting.

Workshops - When Designers Take Light into Their Own Hands

Across both days of the fair, we hosted our “Light Studio” workshops. The lecture format was only the beginning - the most important moments happened shortly after. Participants independently assembled and tested the NANO-TRACK system, pairing fixtures, adjusting light temperature, and exploring remote control functions in practice. Light stopped being theory and became a working tool. The second part focused on drawing VIRIS. Each participant received a sketchbook and one simple request: present your own vision of the ideal fixture configuration. Suggestions, questions, and ideas became invaluable feedback for us - because Lumiocco evolves through dialogue.

Silesia as Inspiration
To conclude the workshops, we paused to reflect on the place where we met. A story about the architecture of Silesia and Katowice became the starting point for a prize quiz - but above all, a reminder that good design always grows from context. There was also an online competition where participants could win… LEGO bricks. Because sometimes the best ideas begin with assembling individual elements into a cohesive whole.

See You in the Next Projects We returned from Katowice with more than photographs and notes. With conversations that stay. With questions that lead to new solutions. And with the conviction that light is created best when designers play an active role in shaping it. See you at future encounters - and, of course, in the projects that are still ahead of us.
